Quality Management of High-Throughput Genotyping Data

For some time now, genetic association studies have been carried out relatively successfully using high-throughput methods. These methods are based on the use of highly integrated and extremely efficient microarray technologies, which, however, also come with several practical problems. Sources of error arise along the entire processing chain, meaning that the qualitative genotyping data generated is not 100% reliable.

This book now provides broadly agreed recommendations for the quality assurance of data generated during high-throughput genotyping. The questions addressed range from problems of validity and plausibility to the detection and avoidance of errors and requirements for data storage and data transfer. The authors have systematically examined, compared, and evaluated a wide variety of methods for processing and analyzing genotyping data from a quality perspective.
